6.29 啄木鳥 뎌고리 본초

탁목조(딱따구리)

Dendrocopos Major

1 性平, 無毒. 主痔瘻, 及牙齒疳䘌, 蚛牙. 《本草》

성질이 평(平)하고 독이 없다. 치루ㆍ아치감닉창ㆍ충치에 주로 쓴다. 《본초》

The nature is mild and it is poison-free. It is usually used for hemorrhoids and anal fistula, sores and fistula on the teeth and gums due to malnutrition, and dental cavities. 《本草》

2 此鳥有褐, 有斑. 褐者雌, 斑者雄. 穿木食蠹, 一名鴷. 淮南子曰, 斲木愈齲. 卽此也. 《本草》

갈색인 것이 있고 얼룩 있는 것이 있다. 갈색인 것이 암컷이고 얼룩 있는 것이 수컷이다. 나무를 뚫어서 벌레를 잡아먹는다. 열(鴷)이라고도 한다. 《회남자》에서, "나무 쪼는 것으로 충치를 낫게 한다"고 한 것이 바로 이것이다. 《본초》

There is the brown kind and the spotted kind. The brown ones are the females and the spotted are the males. It makes a hole in a tree and feeds on the worms inside. Also called Ryeol (Woodpecker, 鴷). It says in the Huainanzi (淮南), that it cures the cavities in the teeth by its nature of making a hole in the tree. The Chinese character Ryeol (鴷) refers to this nature. 《本草》

3 又有山啄木댓뎌구리, 大如鵲, 色靑黑, 頭上有紅毛. 《本草》

또, 산딱따구리도 있는데, 크기가 까치만 하고 색깔은 검푸르며 머리에 붉은 털이 있다. 《본초》

Also there is Dendrocopos Major (啄木鳥) that lives in the mountains. Its size is about that of a magpie, the color is dark blue, and there are red headfeathers on the head. 《本草》

4 俱以端午日得者爲佳. 《入門》

단오에 잡은 것이 좋다. 《입문》

The ones caught during the Dano festival are of good quality. 《入門》
